Clarinda - Plaque - Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh

As we lay down in woodlands green,
In nature’s sweet confusion.
More splendid than the wild profusion,
My lover’s silken hair.

And by the gently flowing stream.
Awakening long, established dreams.
More liquid than the water’s flare,
My lover’s silken hair.

       Kevin Walsh

Burns provides many examples of songs and poems which combine two of his greatest loves, that of nature and that of “the lasses”. A good example of this is “Green Grow the Rashes, O”.  “My Lover’s Silken Hair” is my first attempt on this album to capture this spirit. Spoken rather than sung, I hope to conjure up images of both nature and passion.
