THE TOWER and THE CITY - 3m43s

Brechin has been described as a city since 970 A.D. and the Tower which stands beside the Cathedral is itself over 1000 years old. Thjs track was written to celebrate the rich history of the city of Brechin, from it’s beginnings as a centre for Celtic religion through to the present day.

 There are three main musical themes, the first representing the past, the second representing change and the third representing the present. The piece reaches a climax as the themes for past and present merge and play in harmony, representing that the past and the present are inextricably linked  complementing and supporting each other.
